Vilamarxant golf course off!

The Generalitat have thrown out planning for the proposed golf resort backing onto Monte Horquera. The developer Llanera is currently in the equivalent of Administrative receivership. The plans approved previously by Vilamarxant & Riba Roja councils were described as too "ambitious".

ADSL speed increases

Telefonica have promised to double the basic adsl speed from 3MB to 6MB by the end of the summer at no cost to the customer!  That still leaves customers paying double the UK prices.

Electricity price rise

It looks certain that the price of electricity will rise by 11.3% this year under current proposals currently awaiting approval of the government. The price rises are to reflect the increased costs of producing electricity.

Looks like another bumper year for those enjoying their monopoly.

Americas Cup 2009?

It appears that the emotionally charged 33 rd Americas Cup will be held in Valencia in the summer of 2009.

Following numerous court sittings a New York judge has decided something about something else which means some sort of event will be held amongst two boats far off the shore and out of most peoples view. It will no doubt comprise unnecessarily complicated and obscure rules making the event just as boring as the 32nd.

Thank God for F1, which like the FIM president Max Mosely, still takes some beating!
